This is a Chinese song I learnt in my childhood. It basically tells of how children with mothers are lucky to have them – they are like a gem and have a mother’s embrace to run to. They’re rich in love like no other. On the other hand, children without mothers are unlucky and have many troubles – they’re said to be like dry grass, withered and unhealthy, without a mother’s warm embrace and love, and they have nowhere to find happiness.
It’s a classic, sung by children usually, for their mothers to show their thanks. I hope you spend time with yours today, or with whomever you love.
